What to expect
The successful applicants will carry out independent research and supervision activities in the field of mathematics in economics and business. In line with the research focus of the institute this encompasses the following fields: statistics, computing and ML; stochastic processes and financial mathematics; operations research and optimization.
In line with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, teaching duties associated with the position initially comprise 4 hours per week; they can be in quantitative education programs at WU at the BSc and MSc level, both in English and in German.
What you have to offer
- You hold a diploma or an MSc as well as a PhD in mathematics, statistics or equivalent.
- We expect scientific excellence, documented by publications in internationally recognized journals, excellent preprints, and presentations at seminars and conferences.
- International experience is an advantage.
- The ability to teach in English is required, the ability to teach in German is a substantial advantage.
- Teaching experience in the context of a business school or an economics department is a substantial advantage.
- Willingness to use multimedia teaching methods: You are prepared to use multimedia teaching and learning formats.

The minimum monthly gross salary amounts to €5,014.30 (14 times per year). This salary may be adjusted based on equivalent prior work experience. In addition, we offer a wide range of attractive social benefits.
